Dr. Vishal Sharma is a senior academic, researcher, and media professional specializing in journalism,
mass communication, and media studies, with over 17 years of teaching experience and 3 years in professional journalism.
Academic Profile
He is pursuing a PhD in Journalism and Mass Communication with research on the role of Artificial Intelligence in media.
He is UGC-NET qualified (2022) and holds qualifications including LL.B., M.J.M.C., PG Diploma in Marketing and Sales,
B.Sc., and a Diploma in Sanskrit.
Professional Experience
Since 2009, he has been serving as Assistant Professor and HOD at IIMT University, Meerut.
Earlier, he worked as an Assistant Reporter with Amar Ujala and contributed to other media organizations.
Institutional Responsibilities
He has held key roles such as Examination Coordinator, Admission Coordinator, NAAC and ERP Coordinator,
SWAYAM/MOOC Coordinator, and Member of the Board of Studies.
Research and Publications
Dr. Sharma has authored over 21 research papers, 6 book chapters, and presented work at more than 17
national and international conferences. His research areas include AI in media, digital journalism,
media ethics, IPR, and sustainable development.

He has three published patents related to journalists’ safety, fake news identification, and media perception.
His awards include the Narad Samman, Best Teacher Award, Teacher Appreciation Award, and Research Excellence Award.
