Dr. Sunil Kumar Mishra is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at Lakshmibai
College, University of Delhi, with over 10 years of teaching experience and 7 years of research
experience. Born on 07 July 1980, he holds a Ph.D. in Sociology, is UGC-NET qualified, and was
awarded a Gold Medal in M.A. Sociology.

His academic specialization includes Sociology of Religion, Sociological Theory, Research
Methods, Sociology of Tourism, and Sociology of Crime. He has contributed significantly to
academic administration, serving as Member of the Executive Council at Kangchenjunga State
University (Sikkim), Coordinator of the Research Centre and VAC at Lakshmibai College, and
Co-Coordinator of the IGNOU Centre at LBC.

Dr. Mishra is the Founder of the Purvanchal Sociological Society (2020) and has successfully
organized several national and international conferences and seminars on themes such as elderly
care, sustainability, and society. As Project Director, he has completed ICSSR and NISD
sponsored research projects focusing on housing schemes and intergenerational bonding.

His research interests span religion, tourism, migration, cultural diversity, and issues
related to terrorism-affected families. In recognition of his excellence in teaching, he was
honored with the Best Teacher Award by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in 2022.
